Mrs. Winnie Frances “B.D.” Graham Howell, of Lebanon, TN, formerly of Dry Creek Road in Mt. Pleasant, passed away on Monday, October 22, 2018, in Lebanon, TN.
A native of Mt. Pleasant, she was born May 3, 1925, the daughter of the late Charlie Denton Graham and Lillie Frances Boshers Graham. She was the widow of Clarence C. Howell.
Mrs. Howell began her career at Woldridge Drugs, followed by working at Kinzer Drugs and Holland Drugs. She was a cosmetician for four years and then became a Pharmacy Tech in 1968. She retired on September 16, 1999 after working 35 years and 2 days.
She loved baking, crocheting, embroidery, sewing, camping, picnicking, and shopping. She made all of her children’s clothes, including her daughter’s wedding dress, and for other children throughout the years. Most of all, she enjoyed her work in the church. She was a member of the Freewill Baptist Church since 1954 where she served as Sunday school teacher for many years. She also served as Church Secretary and Treasurer.
Mrs. Howell is survived by two sons: Kenneth (Mallory) Howell of Lebanon, TN and Terry (Brenda) Howell of Nashville, TN; seven grandchildren: Brandy Staggs, Adam (Nina) Howell, Teri Nicole (George) Zima, John Howell, Regina (Chris) Lewis, Paul (Meagan) Howell and T Graham (Lynzey) Howell; six great-grandchildren, Cale Staggs, Jack Warren, Tyler Lewis, Beckett Lewis, Lillian Zima and Eleanor Zima along with one sister, Ophelia Graham King of Columbia.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Joyce Howell Lunn; brothers, Donnie Will Graham and Charlie Perry “Buddy” Graham and sisters, Sallie Mae Graham Norman, Tena Graham Chapman, Lucille Graham Howell, Hautie Lee “Peggy” Graham Howell and Mary Elizabeth Graham Woods.
Funeral services will be conducted Friday at 2:00 P.M. in the chapel of Williams Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant with Bro. William Owens and Bro. Mike Roberts officiating. Burial will follow in Polk Memorial Gardens.
The family will visit with friends on Friday from 11:00 A.M. until time of service at the funeral home.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be deacons and friends of the Freewill Baptist Church, Michael Warren, Faye and Earl Cooper, Lee Howell, Ray Howell, Donnie F. Graham, Charles Gandy, Jim Howell, Sidney Howell, John Howell, James Harvey Graham, and Charlie Ray Howell.
