Mrs. Wilma Simmons Irwin, 90, a resident of Sunset Ave. in Columbia, passed away Saturday, January 28, 2005, at Rosewood Manor Nursing Home.
Funeral services for Mrs. Irwin will be conducted 10:00 am Tuesday, January 31, 2005 at the Church of God of Prophecy in Columbia with Reverend Phillip Lawson, Reverend Robert Creasy and Reverend Richard Neal officiating. Burial will be in the Arlington Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Monday from 3:00 to 8:00 pm at the Williams Funeral Home in Columbia.
The Maury County native was the daughter of the late Clifton and Edna Estes Simmons and wife of the late Reverend Murvil Irwin. She was a homemaker, a very dedicated wife who worked close to the side of her husband in the church and a member of the Church of God of Prophecy.
She is survived by two daughters, Aliene R.T. Wright and Linda Maples, both of Columbia; a son, M.L. Sondra Irwin, Jr. of Franklin; eight grandchildren, Darrell Penny Lee of Cornersville, Gregory Lee of Madison, Tim Irwin of the Fly Community, Wendy David Bennett of Nashville, Tammy Robert Williams of Franklin, Debbie McGinnis of Spring Hill, Lori Robert Shell, StephanieTim Lee, both of Columbia; eight great grandchildren and two step great grandchildren; a sister, Elizabeth White of Columbia. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Irene Irwin and several brothers and sisters.
Pallbearers will be Darrell Lee, Gregory Lee, Timothy Lee, Robert Shell, Billy Ray King, Robert Williams and Alfred Haywood.
