Wilma Faye Bennett King, age 78, passed away on Wednesday, September 23, 2015 at Maury Regional Medical Center.
Wilma was born on October 11, 1936 to William Bennett and Clista Carroll Bennett in Lewis County, Tennessee. Wilma was married to Lawrence Kennedy King. The two shared many wonderful years together until his passing. She was a loving mother and grandmother. Wilma loved her farm and farm animals. Wilma was a devoted long time member of Mt. Joy Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
The family will visit with friends on Friday, September 25, 2015 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Williams Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 26, 2015 at 3:00 p.m. at Mt. Joy Cumberland Presbyterian Church. Burial will follow at Bailey Cemetery.
Wilma is survived by her son Lawrence Douglas (Gwen) King of Mt. Pleasant; grandsons Andrew King and Jonathan King; granddaughter Ashlee King; sisters Juanita King, Ella Joyce Simmons, and Mary Miracle; brothers G.Y. Bennett and Carroll Wayne Bennett; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Wilma was preceded in death by her husband Lawrence King; parents William and Clista Bennett; brother William “Sonny” Bennett; and sisters Donna Leighton, JoAnn Murphey, Dorothy Durham, Betty Love, and Shirley Bennett.
Pallbearers will be Jonathan King, Andrew King, Jeff McClain, Jimmy Haywood, Taylor Hamilton, Gary King, Curtis Haywood, and Billy Bolton.
Honorary Pallbearers are the Elders of Mt. Joy Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Mt. Joy Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
