Willson Crane Rich, Jr.

Mr. Willson Crane Rich, Jr., age 78, resident of Oakdale Drive of Columbia, passed away Saturday, October 9, 2010 at his residence.
Graveside service for Mr. Rich will be conducted Tuesday, October 12th at 10:00 AM with Rev. Rush Harrison officiating in the Polk Memorial Gardens. Military honors will be provided by the United States Army.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 PM on Monday at the Williams Funeral Home of Columbia.
Born November 26, 1931 in Ridley Park, PA, He was the son of the late Willson Crane Rich, Sr. and Kathleen Whitford Rich. He was the husband of Esther Maddux Rich of Columbia. Mr. Rich served our country in the Army Corp of Engineers for 13 years. He graduated from Clarkson University in Pottsdam, N.Y. and he did consulting work in the Chemical Engineering field. Mr. Rich enjoyed building model railroads and was an avid reader and collected military patches. He also was of the Christian faith
In addition to his wife he is survived by two daughters: Susan Michael Hoch of Bartlett, IL, Natalie Joel Rainey of Columbia, TN; grandchildren, Keely Hoch, Jared Rainey and Kjersteen Rainey. He was preceded in death a sister, Isobel Nelson.
