Willie C. Bennett

December 17, 1934 — September 28, 2006

Mr. Willie C. Bennett, age 71, a resident of North Brace Road in Summertown, passed away on Thursday, September 28, 2006, at Maury Regional Hospital.

Funeral services for Mr. Bennett will be conducted Sunday, October 1, at 2:00 P.M. in the chapel of Williams Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant with Jeff Waldrop officiating. Burial will follow in Polk Memorial Gardens.

The family will visit with friends on Friday and Saturday from 5:00 ? 9:00 P.M. at the funeral home.

The Maury County native was the son of the late Claude and Della Langrum Bennett. He was married to Cora Faye Davis Bennett of Summertown on September 22, 1956. He was a retired farmer and was of the Church of Christ faith.


Survivors in addition to his wife include two sons: Terry W. Mary Bennett of Lawrenceburg and Ricky A. Donna Bennett of Ethridge; five grandchildren: Terry W. Bennett, Jr., Tommy Bennett, Crystal Byrd and Corey Jennifer Bennett, all of Lawrenceburg and Brent Bennett of Ethridge; two great-grandchildren: Jordan Bennett and Isabella Grace Bennett, both of Lawrenceburg; five sisters: Bertha Ray Blocker and Alice Colvett, both of Mt. Pleasant; Jewell Briceno, Betty Ann Eley and Joyce Thompson, all of Columbia; one sister-in-law: Shirley Bennett of Hermitage; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one brother, Charles C. Bennett of Hermitage.

Grandsons and friends will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. J. Cummins Couch, doctors and nurses of Maury Regional Hospital ICU, nieces and nephews.
