William Kenneth "Kenny" Riddle, Sr.

Mr. William Kenneth ?Kenny? Riddle, Sr., 79, a resident of Rock Springs Road in Columbia, died Wednesday, August 10, 2005 at Maury Regional Hospital.

Funeral services for Mr. Riddle will be conducted Sunday at 2:00 pm at the Williams Funeral Home in Columbia with Rev. Dwain Brown officiating. Burial will be in the Rock Springs Cemetery with military honors provided by Herbert Griffin American Legion Post #19. The family will visit with friends Saturday from 4:00 to 9:00 pm at the funeral home.

Born in Midway, KY, he was the son of the late Herman and Iva Ellen Jones Riddle and husband of Bertha ?Bert? Branson Riddle and the late Barbara Ann Pilkinton Riddle, who died in 1991. He was a retired millwright from Union Carbide Corporation, an avid fisherman and bowler, who loved his family. He was a member of the Rock Springs Baptist Church, where he served as a trustee. He served in the US Navy during WWII.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by four daughters, Carla Louise Norris Belcher and Brenda Paul Smith, both of Linden, TN, Sherry David Scheide of Columbia and Dee Calvin Hoover of Duck River; a son, William Kenneth Kathy Riddle, Jr. of Murfreesboro, TN; a sister, Gladys Hoffman of Long Beach, CA; two brothers, Raymond Willie Mae Riddle and Charlie Frances Riddle, both of Columbia; eight grandchildren, Jason Dawn Riddle, Kat Matt Gray, Jared Riddle, Brandon Smith, Jeff Riddle, Christine Hoover, Danny Jordan and Carter Hoover; four great grandchildren; five step-children, Linda John Garrison of SC, Lorrie Guy Derryberry of Columbia, Michele Dan Denison of MI, Robin Branson of NC and Charles Pam Branson of FL; 13 step-grandchildren; 16 step great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a sister, Edith Kincaid; three brothers, Herman Riddle, Loyd Riddle and Robert Riddle; two infant siblings.

Pallbearers will be Jason Riddle, Jared Riddle, Jeff Riddle, Danny Jordan, Brandon Smith and Calvin Hoover. Honorary pallbearers will be Charlie Branson, Zachary Derryberry, Corey Derryberry, Wesley Derryberry, Nathan Denison, Bill Winegar, the deacons of Rock Springs Baptist Church and his nephews.
