William Jackson Hendrix

January 16, 1917 — November 23, 2003

Mr. William Jackson "Jack" Hendrix, 86, husband of Frances Potts Hendrix and a resident of Parker Street in Columbia, died Sunday November 23, 2003 at Maury Regional Hospital.

Funeral services for Mr. Hendrix will be conducted Wednesday November 26, 2003 at 2:00 p.m. at the Williams Columbia Funeral Home with Pastor Ralph Duncan and Pastor Bob Adair officiating. Burial will be in the Rose Hill Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Tuesday from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

The Giles County native was the son of the late Mr. & Mrs. William L. Hendrix. He was a retired Self-Employed Carpenter. He was a member of Highland Park Baptist Church.

In addition to his wife, he is survived three children; Bennett Jackson Leisa Burke of Ooltewah, TN, Sonia Burke of Columbia, TN, William Jackson Mary Fontana Burke of Franklin, TN; four grandchildren, Melissa Nicole Josh Shaver of Rossville. GA, Brian Jason Burke of Chattanooga, TN, Britton Kirk Roberts of Ooltewah, TN and William Paul Fitzgerald of Columbia, TN; a brother, Marion Hendrix of Courtland, Al; a sister, Lula Mae Bowen of Decatur, Al; a very special friend, Malcom Hood of Columbia, TN.

He was preceded in death by a daughter Alicia Gaye Burke and a son, Stephen L. Burke.

Pallbearers will be Christian Poling, Patrick Poling, Roger Peters, Larry Deatley, Rick Hodge, Malcom Hood , Herman Lewis and Charles Dillahay.

Honorary pallbearers will be the deacons of Highland Park Baptist Church.
