Mr. William E. "Bill" Upton, age 66, a resident of Brookline Drive in Huntsville, peacefully departed this life to be with his Lord, Jesus Christ, on Tuesday, December 16 at Huntsville Hospital in Alabama after a short illness.
Funeral services for Mr. Upton will be conducted Friday, December 19, at 1:00 P.M in the chapel of Williams Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant with Rev. Jim Wright officiating. Burial will follow in the Arlington Cemetery with military honors provided by the Herbert Griffin American Legion Post #19.
The family will visit with friends Thursday from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
Born in Huntsville, AL, he is the son of Annie Mae Bowden Lamb of Manassas, VA and the late William Upton and the husband of Betty West Upton. He was self employed in the real estate business, a US Air Force veteran and of the Baptist faith.
In addition to his wife and mother, he is survived by his sons: Michael D. Upton of Atlanta, GA and William F. Tracy Upton Clark of Beaufort, SC; a brother: Bobby L. Lamb of Manassas, VA; sisters: Brenda Leonard Lanier of Orange Beach, Fl and Janice Kent of Huntland, TN; grandchildren: Mandy Roland, Chassidy Nicole Shaw, Carrie Ann Wiley, Michael Chance Upton, Gabrielle Clark, Victor Blackburn and David Shinn; great grandchildren: Ariel Roland, Alyssa Roland, Mason Roland and Emma Roland; three brothers-in-law: Robert "Tater" West, Bobby Gene "Worm" West and Joe West; sisters-in-law: Linda Vaughn and Gail West. He was preceded in death by a sister: Patsy Bolden.
Pallbearers will be Jamie West, Eric Holland, Michael Chance Upton, Joe West, Jorden Hall and Henry Vaughn.
