William E. Brown

Mr. William E. "Bill" Brown, 85, a resident of West Sheepneck Rd. Mt. Pleasant, died Monday, July 22, 2002 at Hidden Acres Nursing Home.
Funeral services for Mr. Brown will be conducted Thursday, July 25, 2002 at 11:00 A.M. at the Williams Mt. Pleasant Funeral Home with Rev. Elmer Crosby and Rev. Dickie Lindsey officiating. Burial will be in the Arlington Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 4:00 until 9:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

The Maury County native was the son of the late Will and Mary Lindsey Brown. He was the husband of the late Susie Sims Brown who died July 4, 1992. He was a retired General Contractor and a farmer. He was serving as a deacon at the Ebenezer Church and Deacon Emeritus at the Allensville Baptist Church in which he was a member. He served in the Civilian Conservation Corps during the 1930's.
He is survived by a son Charles Beverly Brown of Mt. Pleasant; a granddaughter, Susan Hoss Holt of Mt. Pleasant; two grandsons, Chuck Lori Brown and Andy Alicia Brown of Mt. Pleasant; five Great-Grandchildren Justin, Adam, and Jessica Holt of Mt. Pleasant; Matthew and David Brown of Mt. Pleasant.; Special friend, Elizabeth Powell; two brothers; Lester Brown of Mt. Pleasant and Joe Brown of Columbia; five sisters Artie Scruggs and Alice Staggs, of Columbia; Ruth Finley, Rachael Scott and Mildred Davis of Nashville.
He was preceded in death by a daughter Emma Sue Brown and a brother Charlie Brown.
Pallbearers will be Chuck Brown, Andy Brown, Hoss Holt, Justin Holt, Adam Holt, Matt Brown, and David Brown. Honorary Pallbearers will be Aaron Jones, Buddy Attkisson, Jessica Holt, Brenda West, Charlie Boyd, Larry Chatman, Men of Allensville Church, Men of Ebenezer Church, Nurses and Staff of Hidden Acres, J. D. Lindsey, Elmer Pierce and Raymond Pitts.
