William A. Bill Runions, Jr. passed away Tuesday, September 6, 2011 at his home on Canaan Road in Mt. Pleasant, TN.
Funeral services for Mr. Runions will be conducted Friday, September 9, 2011 at 5:00 P.M. in the chapel of the Mt. Pleasant Williams Funeral Home with Stephen Kelley & Jim Walsh officiating. Burial will follow in the Arlington Cemetery with military honors provided by the US Army National Guard. The family will visit Thursday with family and friends from 2:00-9:00 P.M.at the funeral home.
He was born in Maury County on July 15, 1948, son of the late William A. Mutt and Lera Bradford Runions. Bill was married to Ellen Kay McKennon Runions on June 9, 1970. Together they had one daughter, Stephanie Layne Wally Davis. He served his country with the United States Army in Vietnam. He was a member of the Locust Street Church of Christ, and was the owner of M&R Lawn Service. He also drove a school bus for the Maury County School System. Bills daughter spoke of his grand-dog Lacey, a cocker spaniel which Bill would take care of daily.
In addition to his wife and daughter, survivors include his two precious grandchildren: Alexa Katherine Davis and Braden William Davis; one whom was thought of as a son: Jr. Phyllis Roberts; one whom was thought of as a daughter: Jill Ben Jones; one whom was thought of as a granddaughter: Kennedy Jones; one sister: Sue Dan Holt of Columbia; two brothers: Edward Runions of Hampshire and George Betty Runions of Mt. Pleasant; sisters and brothers-in-law: Hilda Hal Pickard, Debbie Douglas Marshall, Kim Duane Lovett and Kenny Kathy McKennon; mother in law: Joyce Massey; nieces and nephews: Alissa Nolen, Eric Hendley, Mathew McKennon, Stacy Smith, Elaine Manning, Mindy Manning, Devan Davenport, Amber Davenport, Brenda Adams, Teresa Adams, Denise Runions, Angela Runions, Julie Woodard, Lisa Miller, Barry Runions, Williams Runions, Keith and Kelly Runions, Cindy Rector, Sherry Allen; many great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents: Lera and William Runions; two brothers: J.B. Runions and Robert Runions; a niece: Susie Runions; one nephew: Devin McKennon.
Pallbearers will be Eddie McKennon, Eddie McKennon Jr., Mathew McKennon, Eric Hendley, Lacy Anderson, Dwayne Chatman, Michael Runions and Adam Runions.
