Mr. William A. ?Bill? McNeece, age 78, a resident of
Lady Diana Drive in Columbia and longtime resident of Hampshire Pike passed away on Monday, July 30, at Hidden Acres Nursing Home.
Graveside services for Mr. McNeece will be conducted Wednesday at 10:00 am in Chapel Grove Cemetery in Lawrence County with Bro. Wendell Robinson officiating. The family will meet at the Williams Funeral Home in Columbia at 9:00 am Wednesday to go in procession to the cemetery.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 4:00 ? 8:00 pm at the Williams Funeral Home in Columbia.
The Maury County native was the son of the late Arthur and Alice Boyd McNeece and husband of Barbara Ann Mabry McNeece. He retired as an outside operator at Stauffer Chemical after 41 1/2 years. He was a US Army veteran of the Korean Conflict, a member of the American Legion Post #10 and a member of the Graymere Church of Christ.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children; Daniel Paul ?Danny? McNeece, Lisa Ann King and Carol Joe Fite, all of Columbia; a granddaughter, Anna Carol Fite of Columbia; brothers, Wayne Shirley McNeece, Jerry Martha McNeece and Larry Peggy McNeece, all of Mt. Pleasant; sisters, Margaret Howard Norman of Mt. Pleasant and Jean Don Westmoreland of Culleoka; sister-in-law, Betty Lou McNeece of Mt. Pleasant; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother, Bruce McNeece and a nephew, Mike Norman.
Nephews will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. William Robinson, Charles Bassham, William Pigg, Jim Spears and the staff of Hidden Acres Nursing Home.
