William Walter Thompson, age 58, of Columbia, Tennessee passed away May 30, 2014 at Alive Hospice in Nashville, Tennessee. William professed a hope in Christ at age 12 and was also baptized at the age of 12 at Little Zion Baptist Church in Nashville, Tennessee. William was a graduate of Central High School and had attended Columbia State Community College. He worked for Kasbar Quilting for over twenty years. William was the baby of the family, full of life, and loved to be around his friends and family. He loved to cook, watch movies, and was known for his “Shrek” mobile.
The family will visit with friends on Wednesday June 4 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Williams Funeral Home in Columba. The family will visit with friends from Noon until the service at 1:00 p.m. Thursday June 5, 2014 in the Chapel of Williams Funeral Home in Columbia.
William was preceded in death by his father Irish D. Thompson; his mother Maggie Whittaker; brother Irish Dotson Thompson, Jr.; sisters Lillie M. White, Minnie Ferguson, and Laura Thompson; and his niece DD Miller.
He is survived by his sisters Susie Miller and Janice Nevette; step-children Tina Pillows, Kevin Pillows, and Jeremey (Von) Pillows; nephews Herbert Miller, William Miller, Melvin Miller, David Miller, Robert Ferguson, Gregory Ferguson, James Ferguson, Christopher Ferguson, Roy White, Zel Nevette, and Brain Nevette; and nieces Maggie Alderson, Donnie Thompson, and Stacey Thompson.
William is also survived by friends who he considered brothers and sisters: Katherine Burris, John Gordon, and William Braden.
Pallbearers are William’s nephews and great nephews.
Honorary Pallbearers are the past and present employees of Kasbar and Frensis Dialysis Center.
