William Lloyd King

May 16, 1928 — March 6, 2012

Mr. William Lloyd King was born on May 16, 1928 in Maury County, Tennessee. He was married to his wife of 63 years, Helen G. King and they had three loving children together. Mr. King passed away on Tuesday, March 6, 2012.

William served honorably in the United States Army during the Korean War. His wife still remembers his Army number because she wrote him so often while he was stationed overseas. After fulfilling his service to his country, William returned to Maury County and began working to provide for his family. He was formerly a fireman with the City of Columbia and a correctional officer employed by the State of Tennessee at the state penitentiary for many years. However, he was best known in the community as being the owner of the Muletown Antique Mall. This fit him perfectly as he was passionate about auctions and went every chance he got. His family recounts that the auctioneers loved him because he would bid on anything.

Additionally, William had several other hobbies including fishing and hunting. He also loved working in the garden alongside his wife, growing both vegetables and flowers. He raised several rose bushes and his family notes that roses were his favorite flower.
