Mr. William Howard ?Whitey? Stanfill, 68, formerly of Columbia and a resident of Trenton, Michigan, died Wednesday, May 12, 2004 in Louisiana.
Funeral services for Mr. Stanfill will be conducted Sunday May 16, 2004 at 2:00 p.m. at the Williams Funeral Home in Columbia with John Vaughan officiating. Burial will be in the Polk Memorial Gardens with military honors being provided by the Tennessee State Guard. The family will visit with friends Saturday from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
The Maury County native was the son of the late Willie A. and Callie O. Smith Stanfill. He was the husband of Patricia Davis Stanfill of Trenton, Michigan. He was retired from Monsanto Chemical Company and served our country in the United States Army. He was a member of the Graymere Church of Christ and the Columbia Elks Lodge.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Stacey Michael Stanfield of Kenner, LA; a son, Chad Stanfill of Trenton, MI; two sisters, Ella Brown ?Brownie? Cheatham and George Ann Thurman both of Columbia; a brother, Jack Betty Stanfill of Mt. Juliet, TN; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by three sisters, Nora B. Lindsey, Tommie Stanfill, and Clara Walls; a brother, J.D. Stanfill.
Pallbearers will be Todd Stanfill, Mike Dawson, Ray Stanfill, Randy Stanfill, Jim Thurman, larry Thurman, William ?Moto? Thurman, Larry Weaver, and Barry Devault. Honorary pallbearers will members of the Columbia Elks Lodge, employees of Monsanto Chemical Company in Columbia, Tennessee and Trenton, Michigan, and all his friends.
