William Clayton London

August 2, 1921 — May 11, 2007

Mr. William Clayton London, age 85, a long time resident of Overton Drive, passed away on Friday, May 11, at Life Care Center in Columbia.

Funeral services for Mr. London will be conducted Sunday at 2:00 P.M. in the chapel of Williams Funeral Home in Columbia with Dr. Bob Adair officiating. Burial will follow in Polk Memorial Gardens.

The family will visit with friends from 5:00 ? 7:00 P.M. Saturday at the funeral home.

The Maury Co., native was the son of the late William Levi London and Clara Mae Hickman London Kietzman. He was the husband of Dorothy Price London of Columbia. He was a retired knitter with Tennessee Knitting Mills, avid hunter and fisherman, and a member of the Baptist church. Mr. London was a veteran of WWII.

Survivors in addition to his wife include one son: Steve and wife, Gayle London of Columbia; grandchildren: Missy and husband Jeff Wray of Columbia and Dan London of Nashville; one great-grandchild: Steven Wray; a son-in-law: Andy McKee of Columbia. He was preceded in death by a daughter: Sharon Lynn London McKee.

Pallbearers will be Andy McKee, Donnie Putnam, Gilbert London, Ronald Greggs, Jeff Wray and Frank Jones. Honorary pallbearers will be former employees of Tennessee Knitting Mills, friends and neighbors of Overton Drive, Gene Durham, Jerry Price and Joe London.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Highland Park Baptist Church Music Ministry or Bus Ministry, 1800 Highland Avenue, Columbia, TN 38401.
