Mr. William Ray "Bill" Brooks Jr.
July 31, 1944 — February 21, 2013
William Ray “Bill” Brooks, Jr., was born July 31, 1944 in Paducah, KY, the son of Lois Donaldson “Grandma Boots” Brooks of Adrian, MI and the late William Ray Brooks, Sr. For 39 years, he was the loving husband of Delores Chapman Brooks of Mt. Pleasant.
Bill was a retired tool and die maker with Ford Motor Company. His favorite hobby was making miniature cannons. Bill also enjoyed bowling, golf, hunting and fishing. He was a member of the Summertown Church of Christ.
Bill is survived not only by his wife and mother, but also by his children, Christina Sue (J.R.) Hauser of Deerfield, MI, William Robert (Laurie) Brooks of Columbia, Gary Anthony (Rachel) Brooks of Ridgeway, MI and Lois Ann Brooks of Tipton, MI; grandchildren, Morgan Danielle Brooks, Emalee Claire Brooks, Sonya Sue Brooks, Gary Anthony Brooks, Jr., Jayden Carter Brooks, Janelle Nicole Brooks, Gary Alan Hayes, Danielle Marie Arnold, Jacob Collin Arnold, Crystal Lee Martin, Andy Hyder, Jr., and Benjamin Nicholas Hyder along with 2 great-grandchildren, Kailah Martin and Ava.
Bill passed away on Thursday, February 21, at his residence surrounded by his loving family.
Funeral services will be conducted Monday, February 25, at 2:00 P.M. in the chapel of William s Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant with Ricky Glass officiating. Burial will follow in Arlington Cemetery.
The family will visit with friends on Sunday from 2:00 – 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Gary Alan Hayes, Dennis Harris, Bobby Pitts, Lee Pitts, Gary Brooks, Jr., and Ben Hyder.
