Wilda Lumpkins Linam, a member of the United Methodist Church, passed away June 7, 2012 at NHC Columbia.
Born November 11 to the late Mary and the late John B. Lumpkins in Alabama, she finished high school before she married the love of her life, Roy Linam. The Eastern Star, Scout Leader, and White Shrine were all organizations that she was a member of, besides her most important role as a homemaker. She also loved her precious cats and dogs.
The family will gather with friends Saturday, June 9, 2012 at 7:00 P.M. in the Arbors Pavillion at Polk Memorial Gardens to celebrate her life.
Wilda is survived by her two daughters: Jane Carlton Whitwell of Mt. Pleasant and Ann Robert Salser of Jacksonville, FL; her beloved grandchildren: Benton Whitwell of Columbia, Brandy Mark Barker of Murfreesboro, Ben Salser of Pennsylvania, and Beth Michael Bush of Memphis; great grandchildren: Rachel Whitwell, Will Whitwell, Drew Whitwell, Avery Barker and Jack Barker; one sister: Betty Mcafferty of Manchester In addition to her husband Roy E. Linam, she is preceded in death by her brothers Ralph Lumpkins, John Lumpkins Roy Lumpkins and Herbert Lumpkins, her sisters Ruth WIllis, Alice Ellingboe and Jeanaloa Lumpkins.
Wilda's family wishes to thank NHC Columbia and Caris Healthcare for the outstanding amount of care they provided for their loved one.
In lieu of flowers, the family request that memorials be made to the Snooty Giggles Animal Rescue in Thompson's Station.
