Mr. Wilburn Haywood, Jr., 78, a resident of Columbia Highway in Hohenwald, passed away on Monday, July 9, at his residence.
Funeral services for Mr. Haywood will be conducted Wednesday at 2:00 P.M. in the chapel of Williams Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant with L.C. Loveless and David Kersey officiating. Burial will follow in the Bailey Cemetery in the Mt. Joy Community.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 5:00 ? 9:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
The Maury Co., native was the son of the late Wilburn E. Haywood, Sr., and Audie Gilmore Haywood. He was the husband of Martha Bennett Haywood to whom he was married for 56 years. He was retired from Rhodia, Inc. formerly Stauffer Chemical Co. where he worked as a mechanic for 42 ½ years. He was a farmer and loved hunting fishing and going elk hunting in Colorado with his son every year. He was a member and former elder of the Gordonsburg Church of Christ.
Survivors in addition to his wife include one daughter: Audrey Reeves of Hohenwald; one son: Donnie Haywood of Hohenwald; one sister: Helen Crowder of Goodlettsville; grandchildren: Tracy Morales of Bay Springs, MS, Christie Haywood Hillhouse of Hohenwald, Jason Haywood of Nashville, Angela Reeves of Hohenwald, Anda James of Florence, AL, Wayne Cochran of Tuscumbia, AL and Donna Hall of Summertown; great-grandchildren: Eric Hillhouse of Hohenwald, Jessica & Hailey James of Florence, AL, Jaiden and Johnathan Cochran of Tuscumbia, AL, Cordelia Hall of Summertown, Nicholas & Nathaniel Reeves of Hohenwald and Raymond and Marie Morales of Bay Springs, MS.
Pallbearers will be Patrick Bennett, Wayne Cochran, Jason Haywood, Mark Hayes, Tracy Hall, Gary Graham, Burton Graham, and Eric Hillhouse. Honorary pallbearers will be Shane McCormick, Odell Haywood, and Ronnie Morales.
