Mr. William Fred “Bill” Craig passed away at his home in the Sandy Hook community on Wednesday, December 19, 2012.
Mr. Craig was born in Rockdale, Tennessee on July 1, 1931.to the late Leonard Basil and the late Lelier Mai Lindsey. On October 15, 1961 he married Lena Mai England Craig and they were very happy together for 51 years.
Bill was a retired dump truck owner and operator. He loved country music and spent many hours playing the guitar and even had his own radio show in the early 1950’s. He enjoyed watching the Tennessee Titans. He was a family man and had great love for them. He was of the Methodist faith.
In addition to his loving wife, Mr. Craig is survived by his son: Mike (Charlene) Craig; grandchildren: Carrie (Shannon) Davis and Samantha Craig; great-grandchildren: Rebecca Davis, Lane Davis and Marissa Davis; brothers: Milton Craig, Richard Craig, and Eugene Craig; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his son: Clifton Fred “Cliff” Craig; siblings: Madelyn McKennon, Janette Renfro and Leonard Craig; and his nephew: Joe Renfro.
Funeral services for Mr. Craig will be held on Saturday, December 22, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at Williams Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant with Rev. Jim Ledbetter officiating. Burial will follow at Arlington Cemetery in Mt. Pleasant. The family will visit with friends on Friday, December 21 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Nathan McKennon, Steve Renfro, Andy Craig, Charles Craig, Alton Craig, Keith Craig and Shannon Davis will serve as pallbearers.
