Wayne Woodard, age 69, a resident of Lusk Road in Mt. Pleasant, passed away Monday, October 23, at his home.
Funeral services for Mr. Woodard will be conducted Thursday, October 26, at 11:00 am in the chapel of Williams Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant with Bobby Gobble and Allen Corry officiating. Burial will follow in the Polk Memorial Gardens. The family will visit with friends Tuesday from 6:00 to 9:00 pm and Wednesday from 4:00 to 8:00 pm at the funeral home.
The Maury County native was the son of the late Ollie Virginia Woodard and husband of Laverna Grooms Woodard for 50 years. He was the vice-president of General Trucking, where he worked for 35 years. He was on the school board for 10 years and a member of Porter?s Chapel United Methodist Church.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by 3 sons, Douglas Woodard, Crafton Julie Woodard and Randal Diane Woodard, all of Mt. Pleasant; five grandchildren and six great grandchildren; five sisters, Mildred Alexander, Betty Ross, Jr. Lemay, Marie Estes, Patricia Bobby Johnson and Linda Wiseman; eight brothers, Martin ?Tootie? Portia Woodard, Ollie Linda Woodard, James Katherine Woodard, Charles Debra Wiseman, Coylee Flora Bell Wiseman, Ronnie Judy Wiseman and Michael Cynthia Wiseman. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Lillian Faye Woodard; two brothers, Donald and Stanley Wiseman.
Pallbearers will be Mike Floyd, Vernon Woodard, Brandon Woodard, Brian Ferrell, Robbie Daniels, Johnny Daniels, Wendell Spears, Ray Floyd and James Walker. Honorary pallbearers will be employees of old General Trucking, Haulers Insurance, Dr. Bain, Dr. Tyler, Caris Health Care, Thelma Floyd, Shirley Daniels, Katherine Woodard and Jamie Noblet.
Memorials may be made to the Porter?s Chapel United Methodist Church.
