Walter Ray England

October 7, 1941 — June 20, 2008

Mr. Walter Ray England, age 66, a longtime resident of Porters Chapel Community, passed away on Friday, June 20, at Hidden Acres Nursing Home.

Funeral services for Mr. England will be conducted Monday, June 23, at 2:00 PM in the chapel of Williams Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant with Rick Points officiating. Burial will follow in the Arlington Cemetery.

The family will visit with friends on Sunday from 3:00 -9:00 PM at the funeral home.

Born in Maury County, he was the son of the late Hershel and Louise Roberts England. Mr. England was a farmer and former Dragline Oiler for Hall and Knox Mining. He attended the Freewill Baptist Church in Mt. Pleasant.

He is survived by two sisters: Lena Bill Craig and Catherine Rayburn Burks both of Mt. Pleasant; a brother: Charles England of Bay Town, Texas; nephews and nieces: Mike Charlene Craig, Penny Timmie Morton both of Mt. Pleasant and Stephanie Wray of Summertown, TN, Nathan England and Jason England both of Texas; great-nieces: Carrie Shannon Davis of Lynnville, Samantha Craig and Heather Morton both of Mt. Pleasant, Casey Howell and Ashley Wray both of Summertown; great-nephews: Deno Wray of Summertown and Tray Morton of Mt. Pleasant; great-great-nephew: Lane Davis of Lynnville; great-great-nieces, Rebecca and Merissa Davis both of Lynnville; special cousin, Mary Louise Duby Beckum of Mt. Pleasant and several more cousins. He was preceded in death by one brother: Doyle England and a nephew: Cliff Craig.

Pallbearers will be Mike Craig, Jason Craig, Christopher Beckum, Danny Grooms, Roy Wayne Grooms and Mike Polluck.

Honorary pallbearers will the Staff of Hidden Acres Nursing Home and Dr. Richard Kennedy.
