Mrs. Walderine Tucker Benderman, age 83, a resident of West 15th Street in Columbia, passed away on Friday, August 22, at Life Care Center.
Funeral services for Mrs. Benderman will be conducted Monday at 10:00 A.M. in the chapel of Williams Funeral Home in Columbia with Rev. Jim Ledbetter officiating. Burial will follow in Polk Memorial Gardens.
The family will visit with friends from 3:00 – 8:00 P.M. on Sunday at the funeral home.
The Poplarville, MS, native was the daughter of the late Floyd Tucker and Clara Jane Messemore Tucker. She was the wife of the late Jack Benderman. Mrs. Benderman worked as a overhead welder in a shipyard in Gulfport, MS. She had also worked in the cafeteria at Monsanto and for Judge Jimmy Matthews. She was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include two grandsons: Tommy Molly Benderman of Columbia and Douglas Sandra Benderman of Huntsville, AL; great-grandchildren: Thomas Jack Benderman, Hailey Benderman and Corey Benderman, all of Columbia, and Angelina Benderman of Huntsville, AL; one brother: James Mary Lou Tucker of Jacksonville, FL. Mrs. Benderman was preceded in death by one son: James Douglas Benderman, one grandson: David Michael Benderman and four brothers: Pete, Jim, Billy and Ivelle Tucker.
Pallbearers will be Corey Benderman, Eddie Gray, Mark Werda, Kenny Benderman, Kent Tucker, Tiny Lawrence and Billy Anderson.
