Vollie Leroy Jarrell was born April 30, 1941 in Ponchatoula, LA, the son of the late Vollie Lee Jarrell and Lucinda Sharp Jarrell. He was the husband of Tommie Stricklin Jarrell of Culleoka whom he married on December 16, 1976. Vollie worked as an auto mechanic for both Crown Ford and Sloan Ford. He served his country in the United States Air Force.
Survivors in addition to his wife include his children, Melody J. Jarrell, Rory Lee (Alesha) Jarrell, Darwyn Jarrell, Stacy (Emily) Jarrell and Alicia J. (Chan) McCurley; step-children, Craig (Leslie) McDeavitt, Kevin (Amanda) Ingram, Jan Clayton (Connie) McDeavitt and Dale (Dayna) Ingram; 30 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Johnny Jarrell and Lester Dale Jarrell and two sisters, Carolyn (Charles) Jarrell Prestridge and Verna Jarrell Jones. In addition to his parents, Vollie was preceded in death by one brother, Kenneth Wayne Jarrell.
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 10:00 A.M. in the chapel of Williams Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant with Bro. Donald Paul officiating. Burial will follow in Haynes Cemetery in the Bryant Station Community.
The family will visit with friends on Friday from 4:00 – 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
