Virginia Turner Pinkard

December 3, 1922 — January 18, 2003

Mrs. Virginia Turner Pinkard, 80, a resident of Napier Dr. in Columbia, died Saturday January 18, 2003 at Maury Regional Hospital.
Funeral services for Mrs. Pinkard will be conducted Tuesday January 21, 2003 at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Williams Columbia Funeral Home with Rev. Danny Lester officiating. Burial will follow in Polk Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Sunday from 4:00 to 9:00 p.m. and Monday from 4:00 until 9:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Born in Winston County, Ala., she was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Grady Turner and wife of the late William "Bill" E. Pinkard. She was a homemaker and a member of Southside Baptist Church.
She is survived by a daughter, Linda Pinkard of Columbia; four sons, Leon Cindy Pinkard of Mt. Pleasant and Ray Othelia Pinkard, Donald Terry Pinkard and Roy Pinkard, all of Columbia; a sister, Novella Hayes of Al.; a brother, Denver Turner of Haleyville, Al.; eleven grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, William Ervin Pinkard and two daughters, Barbara and Geneva Pinkard.
Pallbearers will be Danny Henson, Timothy Pinkard, Kevin Pinkard, Kim Smith, Terry Pinkard and Morris Thomas.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
