Mrs. Virginia Elizabeth Pugh Black, 81, resident of Gardner Drive in Mt. Pleasant, died Friday, October 4, 2002 at Maury Regional Hospital.
Funeral services for Mrs. Black will be conducted Sunday, October 6, 2002 at 3:00 p.m. at the Williams Mt. Pleasant Funeral Home with Reverend Greg McFadden officiating. Burial will be in the Arlington Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
The Gibson County native was the daughter of the late Athel and Dela Tegethof Pugh. She was the widow of William Craig Black who died in 1996. She was a retired sewing machine operator for Falcon Industries in Columbia and a member of the Baptist Church.
She is survived by four daughters, Martha Larry Kline, Georgia Vernon Hedman, Judy Donnie Grimes, Pam Billy Lovett all of Mt. Pleasant; one sister, Willie Millard Rodgers of Trenton, TN and Brenda Miller, a very special friend of Mt. Pleasant; fifteen grandchildren; twenty-five great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a son, William Craig Black, Jr., three brothers, Basil Pugh, Roy Pugh and Bythal Pugh; one sister, Lula Delaney; and a grandson, William Andrew Kline.
Pallbearers will be Eddie McFadden, Jeff Ray, Dale Pugh, Karry Gain, Robbie Lovett and Randy Bratton.
