Virgie Bell Goad

May 18, 1912 — April 17, 2003

Mrs. Virgie Louise Bell Goad, 90, a resident of Lawrenceburg Highway in the Rockdale Community died Thursday, April 17, 2003 at Life Care Center.

Funeral services for Mrs. Goad will be conducted Saturday, April 19, 2003 at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel of Williams Mt. Pleasant Funeral Home with Reverend Wayne Parks officiating. Burial will be in Arlington Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Friday from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

The Maury County native was the daughter of the late Leslie and Annie Lou Hayes Bell and widow of William W. Goad, Sr. Mrs. Goad was a homemaker and a member of the Mt. Pleasant Cumberland Presbyterian Church.

She is survived by a daughter, Wanda Howard Davis of Mt. Pleasant; one son, William W. Goad, Jr. of East Tennessee; four grandsons, Steve Davis of Columbia, Michael Debbie Davis of Culleoka, Warren Vivian Davis of Columbia and Tech Sargent James Russell Christy Davis who is serving our country in Iraq; two granddaughters, Sharon Jim Johnson of Mt. Pleasant and Amy Emerson of Columbia; thirteen great grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, two step great -grandchildren and one step great-great-grandchild, two beloved nieces, Betty Fraser of Columbia and Anne Morton of Mt. Pleasant.

She is preceded in death by three sisters, Mattie Marks, Sadie Lowes, and Lexie Woods; one brother, Fred Bell; a granddaughter, Jennifer Goad.

Active pallbearers will be her grandsons, Charles Fraser, Frank Morton, and James Goad.

Honorary pallbearers will be elders of Mt. Pleasant Cumberland Presbyterian Church, Dr. William Robinson, Amanda Flippin, and the Staff of Life Care Center.
