Violette Burns Blocker

Mrs. Violette Burns Blocker, 77, a resident of South Locust Street in Mt. Pleasant, died Thursday, July 14, 2005 at Maury Regional Hospital.
A graveside memorial service for Mrs. Blocker will be conducted Sunday, July 17, 2005 at 3:00 pm at Polk Memorial Gardens with Reverend Phillip Wright officiating. Williams Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant is in charge of the arrangements.
The Mt. Pleasant native was the daughter of the late Boyd and Minnie Wildeman Burns. She was preceded in death by Edwin Blocker who died in 1997. She is survived by her daughter, Dawn Blocker Hudson of Columbia, TN; her son-in-law, Webber Van Hudson of Columbia, TN; two grandsons, Edwin Campbell Hudson and Evan Burns Hudson of Columbia, TN; her childhood friend, Martha Brock Short; a special friend, Lawrence Douglas of Mt. Pleasant, TN.
Honorary pallbearers will be Mrs. W.J. Davis, Stephen Hughes, Jeff Quirk, Wilma and Walter Locke, Ted and Geri Sisco, Nancy Hull Webb, Kay and James Lindsey, Eloise Buchanan, Dr. Angela Joynes, and Dr. Robert McClure.
