Mrs. Viola Agnes Pickard, age 84, of Spring Hill, Tennessee passed away on Sunday, June 24, 2018 at Maury Regional Medical Center.
Viola was born on June 30, 1933, in Troy, New York to Floyd and Leona Renaud Richardson. She was married to Harold Loyd Pickard for thirty-four years until his passing. She was known to the children who passed through McDowell Elementary School as the Cafeteria Manager. She lived in Spring Hill for many years and loved her city, even serving as a former alderman on the Board of Mayor and Aldermen. Traveling and shopping were two of her hobbies and she loved photography as well. She worshipped at West End Baptist Church in Columbia.
Cherishing Viola’s memory are her children: Harold (Hilda) Pickard of Mt. Pleasant, Donald (Karen) Pickard of Columbia, Mary Pickard of Columbia, Sandra (Steve Fielder) Whitehouse of Columbia and Barbara Pickard of Columbia; 15 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren; and siblings: Mary Ann Dronchi, Susan Richardson and Joey Richardson, all of New York. She was preceded in death by her husband: Harold Pickard; parents: Floyd Richardson and Leona Horey; son: Richard Pickard; grandson: Donnie Pickard; and brother: Jackie Richardson.
Funeral services for Viola will be held on Friday, June 29, 2018, at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Williams Funeral Home in Columbia. Burial will follow at Polk Memorial Gardens. The family will visit with friends on Thursday, June 28 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., also at the funeral home.
