Vinita Lee Webb Standefer, 90, died Wednesday, August 18 in the home where she resided with her eldest daughter, Sharon Standefer Beltz and son in law, Jeff Beltz in Culleoka, TN. She was the daughter of the late Harvey and "Molly" Moore Webb and the wife of the late Howard "H.L." Standefer, whom she married September 20, 1942.
She resided in Flomot, TX, where she was a teacher and then they lived in Plainview, TX where she was a bookkeeper for 37 years at Rockwell Bros. Lumber Company. They retired in Hale Center, TX, where she was a member of the First Baptist Church. An avid sports fan, Vinita Lee loved her Houston Astros and enjoyed her trips to Sand Diego every summer to see her nephew, Johnny Webb, so that she could see the Astros and Padres play. She loved crossword puzzles and volunteered her time crocheting lap blankets for residents of local nursing homes.
She is survived by 3 daughters: Sharon Standefer Beltz of Culleoka, TN, Linda Standefer Bowman of Georgetown, TX and Donna Standefer Sauve of Leander, TX; 7 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, and 1 great-great granddaughter; a brother: Joe Webb of Tucson, AZ.
Services will be held Monday, August 23 at 10:00 am at the First Baptist Church, 305 W. 6th St., Hale Center, TX. Family visitation at Freeman Abell Funeral Home, 223 S. Main in Hale Center, TX on Sunday, August 22 from 2:00 to 4:00 pm
