Victor “Vic” Poag, age 73, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, February 2, 2016 in Peoria, Arizona.
Victor is survived by his daughters, Whitney Nicolette Poag of Scottsdale, AZ, and Molly Calapp (Troy) of Peoria, Arizona; companion, Michelle Gailiun of Peoria, AZ; siblings, Harold Douglas Poag (Heidi) of Columbia, TN; James Rodney Poag of Linden, TN; Wanda Poag Stanfill (Wayne) of Columbia, TN; Brenda Poag Webb of Cocoa Beach, FL; Charles W. Poag of Columbia, TN; Harvel G. Poag (Brenda) of Lebanon, TN; and William Gary Poag of Columbia, TN; special friends, Janice Logue of Columbia, TN, and John Mikeselle of Columbus, OH; numerous nieces and nephews; five grandchildren and one great grandchild.
Victor was born in Hohenwald, TN. He was a graduate of Columbia High School. He started his career in radio at WKRM in Columbia and advanced to television news anchor in Alabama, Tennessee, Florida, Georgia, and Ohio. Later, he had a second career as Director of Marketing at Beulah Race Track in Columbus, Ohio.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Alfred H. and Christine Poag of Columbia, TN, and children, Tracy Victoria Poag and Scott Layne Poag.
Pallbearers will be nephews, nieces, family, and friends.
The family will receive friends at 12:30 p.m. on Friday, February 12, 2016 at Williams Funeral Home in Columbia with a graveside service following at 2:00 p.m. at Polk Memorial Gardens. Bob Adair will be officiating.
