Verta Mai Kelley Love, age 71, passed away at Signature Health Care in Columbia.
Verta was the daughter of the late Porter Kelley and the late Nettie Potts Kelley and was born on March 6, 1941 in Maury County, Tennessee. She was married to the late Harold Buford Love who preceded her in death in 1979.
Mrs. Love worked as a press operator at Dixie Manufacturing for 16 years and later for Lasko Metal Products in Franklin, Tennessee, working in plastic injection molding for 10 years. She was of the Baptist faith. Mrs. Love was very proud of her daughters and grandchildren, the lights of her life. She was loving and kind, and enjoyed everyone she met. The staff at Signature Health Care adored her and as long as she was able, she participated in many activities there and had many friends.
She is survived by her daughters: Pam (Paul) Lane of Columbia, Tammy DeMoss of Columbia and Lisa (Mark) Erwin of Lindale, Texas; 6 grandchildren, and 7 great grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her siblings: Hattie Bea Potts, Bessie Kelley Fly, Gladys Kelley Cates, Lessie Mae Kelley Nellums, and Howard Kelley.
Funeral services for Mrs. Love will be held on Thursday, November 29 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. David Baker and Dr. Thomas Cox officiating, at Williams Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant. Burial will follow at Polk Memorial Gardens. The family will visit with friends on Wednesday, November 28 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Williams Funeral Home in Mt Pleasant.
“Bubba” Leonard Lee, Donald Love, Johnny Love, Tony Love, David Fly, and Wayne Cates will serve as pallbearers.
