Mrs. Mary Vernon Judkins Emmitt, 78, a resident of South College Street in Mt. Pleasant, died Wednesday, January 7, 2004 at Hidden Acres Health Care.
A memorial service for Mrs. Emmitt will be conducted Sunday, January 11, 2004 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Williams Mt. Pleasant Funeral Home with Reverend J.C. Christian officiating. Inurnment will be in the Arlington Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday from 1:00 p.m. until service time at the funeral home.
The Iron City, TN native was the daughter of the late Edgar Rice and Annie Pearl Tucker Judkins. She was the wife of William C.?Bill? Emmitt. She was a former long-time resident of Tampa, Florida and many other cities in the South. She was retired as a medical transcriptionist. She loved music, books and played the piano. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Mt. Pleasant.
In addition to her husband she is survived by her children, Jayne Jim Andron of Philadelphia, PA, William Jonathan ?Jon? Emmitt and Kay Suzanne ?Suzy? Emmitt both of Mt. Pleasant, TN; two grandsons, David Andron of San Francisco, CA and Matthew Andron of Phoenix, AZ; three sisters, Annie Sue McCoy of Columbus, OH, Ruth Pipkin of Knoxville, TN and Lois Gerald Stewart of Harrisburg, PA; a sister-in-law, Marion Winson Judkins of Groveland, FL; nieces and nephews, Carol Ann Judkins Meek, Richard Judkins, Mack McCoy, Bob McCoy, Kevin McCoy, Donna Pipkin Raines, and David Pipkin.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Cecil Roy Judkins.
Honorary pallbearers will be the Staff of Hidden Acres Health Care.
