Mrs. Vergie Davis Goins, age 89, a long time resident of Mt. Pleasant passed away on Friday, October 12, in Maury Regional Hospital
Funeral services for Mrs. Goins will be conducted Monday at 1:00 P.M. in the chapel of Williams Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant with Reverend Frank Webb officiating. Burial will follow in Polk Memorial Gardens.
The family will visit with friends on Sunday from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
The Cannon County, Tennessee native was the daughter of the late Newt Davis and Kate Brumley Davis. She was the widow of Ezra ?Jack? Goins. Mrs. Goins was a sales lady for Roses Department Store and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Mt. Pleasant.
Survivors include her children: Wayne Annie Ruth Goins of Columbia and Shirley Goins of Nashville; one grandson: Cody Sarah Goins of Columbia. She was preceded in death by one grandson: Robin Goins and several brothers.
Pallbearers will be John Davis, Jr., W.C. Johnson, Bob Hull, Elbert Powell, Ron Reed and Ronnie Belew.
Honorary pallbearers will be Thelma Barron, Dr. Thomas Farmer, Arch Patterson, Caregivers and Life Care Center and Staff of Maury Regional Hospital third floor-station B.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the First Baptist Church of Mt. Pleasant Bus Fund, 201 Bond Street, Mt. Pleasant, TN 38474.
