On January 22, 2022, Veda Colleen Shirley took her final breath, surrounded by her loved ones. The sun rose and the world welcomed Colleen on February 12th, 1947, a day the world became a little brighter. Colleen lived a full and warm life, filled with so much love. She will be remembered and sorely missed by everyone that has ever had the pleasure of meeting her.
Colleen is survived by her big and loving family as followed:
She is survived by her daughter and Son-in-law: Joy and Steve Spanninger; daughters: Jill Scott and Dawn Smith; son: Billy Shirley; daughter: Amy Rusch; son: Stephen Woolard, Matthew, and Erin Shirley, and Bethany and Luke Smith and her special little dog Scooter.
Grandchildren Justin and Jeffrey Scott, Steven and Kylie Spanninger, Dustin Scott, Haley, and Justin Busby, Brady Smith, Ashli, and Kyle Savage, Tegan Smith, Katlyn White, Audrey Shirley, Kaleb Allen, Ava Shirley, Matthew Jr and Mason Shirley, Kyler, and Kenneth Smith; Great-grandchildren: Paiton Scott, Zayden Busby, Bentley, Landon Scott, Damien Russell, Adalee and Jake Spanninger, Kylian Russell, Gabriel Savage, and Mia Busby.
And many others, she loved everyone like they were her own and everybody looked up to her as a mother, grandmother, and friend.
She was preceded in death by: Husband Floyd Shirley, Mother, and Father Betty and Forrest Asman, Brother Bruce Asman, Sister Delores Alford, Son Donald Shirley, Mother-in-Law Jesse Hicks.
As she has always followed this quote so shall we: My precious child, I love you and I would never leave you. During your times of trial and suffering, when you only see one set of footprints. It was then that I carried you.
A Memorial Service will be held on February 6, 2022, at Fall River Community Center, 182 Clear Creek Road, Leoma, TN., beginning at 2:00 p.m.
