Mrs. Uvela Sutton Ragsdale Maxwell, 83, died Thursday, October 10, 2002 at her residence on First Avenue in Mt. Pleasant.
Funeral services for Mrs. Maxwell will be conducted Saturday, October 12, 2002 at 2:00 p.m. at the Williams Mt. Pleasant Funeral Home Gloria Watts of the Hospice Rim of Tullahoma officiating. Burial will be in the Arlington Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Thursday from 5:00 until 9:00 p.m. and Friday from 1:00 until 9:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
The Cocke County, Tennessee native was the daughter of the late John and Jessie Andrews Sutton. She was the widow of G.C. Maxwell. She was a homemaker and a member of the South Side Baptist Church.
She is survived by five daughters, Margaret Norman and Barbara Holder both of Mt. Pleasant, Judy Wyatt of Memphis, Minnie Sue Ragsdale of Newport, TN, and Ruby Johnnie McGaw of Pulaski; three sons, William R. Frances Ragsdale of Columbia, John Charles Ragsdale and Elton M. Ragsdale, Jr. both of Mt. Pleasant; twenty-four grandchildren and thirty-five great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by four sisters and four brothers.
Her grandsons will serve as pallbearers, Tim Holder, Billy Joe Norman, Johnny B. McGaw, Jr., Guy Ragsdale, David Stanfill, Timothy Morton, Jeff Ragsdale, and Elton Ragsdale, III. Honorary pallbearers will be Gloria Watts, Lisa Reed, and Kay Luna, all of Hospice of the Highland Rim.
