Travis W. Beard

Mr. Travis W. Beard, 66, a resident of Alpine Drive in Hohenwald, died Sunday, Sept. 29, 2002 in Maury Regional Hospital.

Funeral services for Mr. Beard will be conducted Wednesday, Oct. 2, 2002 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Williams Columbia Funeral Home with the Rev. Ronnie Parrish officiating. Burial will follow in Polk Memorial Gardens. The family will visit with friends Tuesday from 11:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Born in Lamar County, Al., he was the son of the late Harvey and Iantha Simpson Beard and husband of the Ruth Wooten Beard. He retired, after 37 years, as supervisor with the Asplundh Tree Company and was a member of Freedom Holy Temple Church.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, ODell Lila Beard of Hohenwald; nine daughters, Judy Joe Green of Columbia, Mary Johnson of Hohenwald, Gwendol Jackie Roland of Columbia, Betty Steve Love of Columbia, Dorothy Jimmy Brooks of Columbia, Delores Bradford of Columbia, Wanda David Mercer of Columbia, Debbie Steven Curry of Centerville and Jody Juan Soto of Columbia. 23 grandchildren, Carrie Beard of Columbia, Virginia Beard of Hohenwald, Stephanie Beard of Hohenwald, Christopher Beard of Hohenwald, Crystal Green of Columbia, Jessica Green of Columbia, Clinton Green of Columbia, Michael Roland of Columbia, Sarah Roland of Columbia, Stevie Love of Columbia, Trevor Love of Columbia, Kimberly Brooks of Columbia, Jennifer Brooks of Columbia, Jimmy Brooks Jr. of Columbia, Melissa Bradford of Columbia, Amy Bradford of Columbia, Laura Bradford of Columbia, Chad Prince of Columbia, Devin Mercer of Columbia, Zachary Curry of Centerville, Jonathan Curry of Centerville, Elizabeth Beard of Columbia and Alaina Soto of Columbia; two sisters, Inez Vestal of Chapel Hill and Annie Ruth Whatley of Park Forest, IL.; a brother, Leon Beard of Columbia.

Pallbearers will be Timmy Frazier, Gary Frazier, John Whatley, Troy Whatley, Rickey Haskins and Steven Curry.
