Tonya Frankie Potts Ellis, age 40, a resident of Dog Creek Road in Primm Springs, passed away on Tuesday, December 2 at Vanderbilt University Medical Center due to an extended illness.
Funeral services for Mrs. Ellis will be conducted Friday at 2:00 P.M. in the chapel of Williams Funeral Home in Columbia with Bro. Bobby Winters officiating. Burial will follow in the Potts Cemetery, where she will be laid next to her father.
The family will visit with friends on Wednesday and Thursday from 3:00 – 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
The Maury County native was the daughter of Shirley V. England Potts of Primm Springs and the late Frank Thomas Potts. She was the wife of Richard Ellis of Primm Springs, whom she married on December 4, 2004. Tonya was a member of the Little Rock Church of Christ.
In addition to her husband and mother, she is survived by step-children: Christopher James Ellis and Dustin Lee Ellis; brothers: Jim Debbie Dotson of Santa Fe, Shane Chrissy Potts of Antioch and Jeff Warren of Lyles; a sister: Sherry Breece of Bon Aqua; nephews: Nick Potts of Antioch and Rocky Breece of Bon Aqua; several uncles, aunts and cousins. She is also survived by a special pet, Bandit.
Pallbearers will be Phil Stanfill, Michael Walters, Chris Webb, William England, Sandy McCord, Ronald Ellis, Larry Warren and Johnny Martin. Honorary pallbearer will be Chance McCord.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorial donations be made to the family of Tonya Ellis in care of Shane Potts at 6500 Arvington Way, Antioch, TN 37013 or by contacting Williams Funeral Home.
