Tommy Raymond Mitchell

Mr. Tommy Raymond Mitchell, age 77, a resident of the Hilltown Road in Santa Fe, passed away on Thursday, April 5, at his residence.
Funeral services for Mr. Mitchell were conducted Saturday at 2:00 P.M. in the chapel of Williams Funeral Home in Columbia with Rev. Ronnie Johnson, Rev. Howard Alexander and Rev. Steve Queen officiating. Burial was in the Potts Cemetery.
The Maury Co., native was the son of the late John M. and Effie
Clymer Mitchell. He was the husband of Kathleen Potts Mitchell
of Santa Fe. Mr. Mitchell was retired as the Head E Processor at Union Carbide. He was a member of the Elmore Church of the Nazarene.
Survives in addition to his wife include his children: Tommy Ray Teresa Mitchell and Darvin Ladon Mitchell, both of Santa Fe: two sisters: Joyce Smith of Tullahoma, TN and Jewell Hooten of Chattanooga, TN; grandchildren: Christy Michelle Johnny Cates, Evan Mitchell and Ashlyn Mitchell, all of Santa Fe. Special friends: Rachel Massey, Estelle Steward, Teresa King, Christine Sewell, Virginia Marsh, Doris Wakefield, and Daisy McCord. Sisters-in-law that he loved very much: Ruth Smith, Audrey Slaughter, Ester Kinney, Earline Morrow and Carolyn Atkins.
He was preceded in death by brothers and sisters: Bevie Andrews, Ruby Sanders, Vella B. Warren, Elizabeth Sparkman, James Mitchell, John Mitchell, Jr. and Harold Mitchell.
Pallbearers will be Mike Andrews, Jr., Gary Sparkman, Terry Mitchell, Roy Andrews, Roger Sparkman, Randy Mitchell, Gene Sanders, Danny Sparkman, Joe Hooten, Ronald Sparkman, Barry Sparkman and Eddie Smith. Honorary pallbearers will be Bill Brunson, J.C. Kelley, Enoch George, Ralph Ussery, Clyde Hay, J.W. Steward, Ed King, Johnny Cates, and retirees of Union Carbide.
