Tommy Roland Mitchell, age 61, of Columbia, passed away on November 26, 2019 and Maury Regional Medical Center.
Tommy was born March 7, 1958, in West Lafayette, IN, the son of the late Tommy J. Mitchell and Mary Ann Thomas Mitchell. He was employed as a professional commercial and residential painter.
A lifelong Purdue Boilermaker fan, Tommy was also an avid Tennessee Titans fan. He was one who easily made friends and was kind and compassionate and a very giving person, even when in declining health himself. Tommy had worked as a roadie for the Marshall Tucker Band and other musicians. He loved music and was a gifted guitarist and songwriter. He was incredibly proud of his Shoshone Indian heritage.
Survivors include his longtime caregiver, Janet Hendrix of Columbia and two nieces, Heather Hooten and April Winters, both of Columbia, along with several great nieces and nephews. He loved and cherished his 2 dogs, Buddy and Yeller Feller, who miss him terribly. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his two sisters, Valeria Bullion and Tina Kay Hooten.
