Tommy Jay Mitchell

Tommy Jay Mitchell, age 80, passed away at his home in Hohenwald, TN, Saturday, May 10, 2014.
Tommy was born to the late Tommy Jay Akers and Elma “Brooks” Coffman. He honorably served in the United States Army during the Korean War, upon returning home he worked as a painter on commercial vehicles. He was a member of the American Legion always remembering those who served with him. He loved to raise livestock, farm, and go fishing. He will be dearly miss by all who knew him.
Tommy is survived by his: wife: Maxine Mitchell; sons: Tommy R. Mitchell and Kent Mitchell; grand daughters: April Winters and Heather Hooten; five great grand children; niece: Sharon Boyd; mother of Kent: Wynoia Miller.
Tommy is preceded in death by his daughters Valerie Bullion and Tina Hooten.
The family will have a memorial service for Tommy at a later date.
