Tommy Wayne Kennedy, age 74, of Joy Road, retired employee of Occidental Chemcial Company, went to be with his savior after a long hard fought illness on July 8th 2013 at Maury Regional Medical Center.
Funeral arrangements for Mr. Kennedy will be Friday, July 12th 2013 at 2:00 P.M. at Williams Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant, TN. With Rev. Charles Clark and Billy Ray King officiating. Burial will follow at Polk Memorial Gardens. The family will visit with friends at the funeral home on Thursday, July 11th from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m., and on Friday from 12:00 until time of the service.
A native of Maury County, Mr. Kennedy was born on July 3rd 1939 to the late John and Emma Dugger Kennedy, and is the husband of his loving wife of 52 years Shirley Goodwin Kennedy, and is survived by his children: Son; Darin Wayne (Jane) Kennedy of Sandy Hook, Daughter; Renee (Williard) Pigg of Summertown. Grandson; Scotty Wayne (Christina) Kennedy of Sandy Hook, Granddaughter; Mary-Beth Pigg of Summertown, Great Grandson; Mason Wayne Kennedy of Sandy Hook, and soon to be born great grandauhter; Shelby Lynn Kennedy, Brother; Billy Ray (Brenda) Kennedy of Sandy Hook, Inlaws; Eugene (Lena) Goodwin, Terry (Patsy) Goodwin, and Jewell (Bill) Sutherland.
Tommy was also preceded in death by: Infant grandson; Will Pigg, Sisters; Liddie Mae Burkett, Mary Elizabeth Thomason, and Betsy Thomason, Father and Mother-in-law Ewell and Margie Goodwin.
Active Pallbearers will be Darin Kennedy, Scotty Kennedy, Billy Ray Kennedy, Eric Kennedy, Randy Goodwin and Terry Goodwin.
Honorary Pallbearers are; Pee Wee and Charlette Colvett, James and Betty Ferguson, Joe and Katina Donaldson, John Davis, Jr. Dalton Hayes, Andrew Massey and all the retired employees of Occidental Chemical Company.
At this time the family wishes to thank Dr. Bain, Dr. Couch, and all the doctors and nurses at Maury Regional Medical Center, for the special care that was given to him. A special thanks to Care All Home Health, especially Kathy and Joan.
