Mr. Tommie L. Cummins, age 55, resident of Academy St. in Columbia and formerly of Mt. Pleasant, passed away Wednesday, August 11, 2010 at his residence.
Funeral services for Mr. Cummins will be conducted at 2:00 P.M on Friday, August 13, 2010 in the chapel of the Williams Mt. Pleasant Funeral Home with Rev. Danny Laster officiating. Interment will follow in Arlington Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 12 Noon until 9 P.M. on Thursday at the funeral home.
Born January 9, 1955, in Maury Co., he was the son of the late Roy Lee Waldrop and Nina E. Staggs Cummins. He was married to Cathey Mc Cormick Cummins of Columbia. He was retired from Premier and had formerly been employed with Polk Memorial Gardens and had worked in production with Catamarin Cruisers. He was a detailed woodcrafter having built replicas of many things. He was a member of Southside Baptist Church in Mt. Pleasant.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a two daughters, Santana Hope Cummins and Faith Green both of Alabama; step-son, Benjamin Shelley Morrow, Jr. of White Bluff; two step-daughters, Tina Randolph of White Bluff and Shana Dyer of Lewisburg; two brothers, Jerry Linda Sue Cummins and Roy Cummins both of Mt. Pleasant; seven grandchildren; three nieces; two nephews; and special cousins, Ruby Staggs, Joyce Staggs, Debbie Staggs and Joseph Staggs. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Bobby Cummins, Andrew Gene Cummins and Marion Dale Cummins and a sister, Jewell Dean Cummins.
Active pallbearers will be Jason Cummins, Bradley Brown, Ray Pitts, Jerry Cummins and David Moore. Honorary pallbearers will be employees of Premier.
