Mr. Timothy R. "Tim" Smith, 46, resident of Melissa Dr. in Columbia, died Sunday, February 16, 2003, at Maury Regional Hospital.
Funeral services for Mr. Smith will be conducted Wednesday, February 19, 2003 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Williams Columbia Funeral Home with Rev. Jim Ledbetter, Rev. David Gallaher and Rick Points officiating. Burial will follow in the Friendship Cemetery in Culleoka. The family will visit with friends Monday from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and Tuesday from 1:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the Funeral home.
Born in Lawrence County, he was the son of Effie Lillian Puttman Smith and the late Edward D. Smith and husband of Hester Young Smith. He was a truckdriver for Sanders Construction and a member of Park Grove Baptist Church.
In addition to his wife and mother, he is survived by two special step-daughters, Brenda Jimmy Dale of Culleoka and Jessie Marie Morton of Murfreesboro; a special step-son, Timmy Leslie Morton of Culleoka; three special grandchildren, Kayla and Hannah Dale and Brandon Morton, all of Culleoka; four sisters, Wanda Faye Vaughn of Cookeville, Gail Wunner of Shelbyville, Betty Jean Rochelle and Willarene Fisher, both of Lawrenceburg; five brothers, J.W.Sue Smith of Columbia, Gary Vicki Smith of Etheridge, Bobby Catherine Smith, Eugene Katrina Smith and Michael Smith, all of Lawrenceburg. Several nieces and nephews.
Active pallbearers will be Richard Parks, David Craig, Ronnie Burns, Nelson Huey, Steve Lynn, Joe Kelley, Carl Pigg and Allen Elias. Honorary pallbearers will be the staff of Columbia Health Care, Dr. Jamie Slandzicki, Dr. Shawn Gentry, Dr. Rand Hayes, Dr. Sue Ellen Lee, Dr. Robert McClure and staff of Maury Regional Hospital.
Memorials may be made to the Liberty Baptist Church.
