Thomas Wayne Lovett

Mr. Thomas Wayne Lovett, 67, a resident of Jewell Drive in Columbia, passed away Thursday, January 12, 2006 at Maury Regional Hospital.

Funeral services for Mr. Lovett will be conducted 2:00 pm Sunday, January 15, 2005 at Williams Funeral Home in Columbia with Donald Dark, Glen Mayfield, Curtis Dowdy and Johnny Mack Young officiating. Burial will be in the Polk Memorial Gardens. The family will visit with friends from 6:00 to 8:00 pm Friday and 4:00 to 8:00 pm Saturday at the funeral home.

The Maury County native was the son of the late William Davis and Eula Robinson Lovett and husband of Billie Voss Lovett. He was a retired payroll clerk with Union Carbide, former employee of Pepsi Cola, a longtime Church of Christ minister, associate minister with Highland Church of Christ, Macedonia Church of Christ in Mt. Joy, former minister of Antioch, held Bible Studies on WMCP and WXRQ radio on Sunday mornings and was presently a courier for First Farmers and Merchants Bank. He loved to play Bluegrass Music on the fiddle and study the Bible. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and a long faithful member of the Church of Christ.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Sonya George Cox of Gallatin, TN and Kerrie Don Johnson of Columbia, TN; a brother, Davis Mary Lovett, Sr. of Franklin, TN; two granddaughters, Katy Cox of Gallatin, TN and Ella Johnson of Columbia, TN; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother, Charles Eugene Lovett.

Pallbearers will be Johnny Paisley, Don Trulove, Charlie Craig, Billy Lovett, Bobby Lovett and Bobby Matlock. Honorary pallbearers will be employees of First Farmers and Merchants Bank and fellow retirees of UCAR.
