Thomas “Tommy” “Turk” Edward Workman, age 69, passed away on Wednesday, November 18, 2015 at NHC Hillview.
Tommy was born on October 31, 1946 in Lawrenceburg, Tennessee to the late Ed T. Workman and the late Helen Davis Workman. Tommy retired from the District Attorney General’s office where he worked as a Criminal Investigator for the 22nd Judicial District. One of Tommy’s greatest awards during his career was working as an advocate for the children of Tennessee. Tommy’s past-time enjoyments included visiting with close friends and watching the Vols play. Tommy was a member of Masonic Lodge in Mt. Pleasant, the Scottish Rite Bodies in Nashville, the Al Menah ShrineTemple in Nashville, and the National Fraternal Order of Police.
The family will visit with friends on Friday, November 20, 2015 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Williams Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 21, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Williams Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant, Tennessee with Rev. Howard Kitter officiating. Entombment will follow at Polk Memorial Gardens.
Tommy is survived by his sisters Martha Workman Snider and Teresa Lynn Workman Sharp; aunt Sarah Witherow; and special friend Christi Fite.
The family would like to say a special thank you for their care and friendship to Chris and Jana Cummins, Louie and Edna Fite, and Billy and Donna Sexton.
Pallbearers will be Mickey Crews, Kenneth Webb, Richard Hayes, Daniel Sexton, Jim Tucker, and Warren Davis.
Honorary pallbearers will be the members of law enforcement of Wayne, Maury, Lawrence, and Giles Counties; past and present members of Wayne County DCS.
