Thomas Leo Jackson

Mr. Thomas Leo Jackson, 49, a resident of Cowan Street in Columbia, died Saturday, August 10, 2002 in Meherrin, Virginia from injuries received in a motorcycle accident.

Graveside services for Mr. Jackson will be conducted Saturday, August 17, 2002 at 2:00 p.m. at the Pinecrest Memorial Gardens. The family will visit with friends Saturday from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at the Williams Columbia Funeral Home.

The Keysville, Virginia native was the son of Helen Neal Jackson of Meherrin, Virginia and the late Lloyd Jackson. He was the husband of Annie Kelson Jackson of Columbia, TN. He received his formal education in the Public Schools of Lunenburg County, Virginia. Thomas accepted Christ as his personal Savior and joined the Bethany Baptist Church at an early age and remained a member there.

During the course of twenty-eight years of a business career, he worked with General Motors Corporation in Tarrytown, New York. Later he moved to Framingham, Massachusetts and Baltimore, Maryland. He was employed with the Saturn Corporation in Spring Hill, Tennessee from 1995 until the present.

In addition to his wife and mother, he is survived by a daughter, Patrice Jackson of Massachusetts; a son, Marcus Jackson of Massachusetts; one step daughter-in-law, Kristine Smith of Somerset, NJ; four step children, Angela Smith and Kelisha Marshall of Antioch, TN, Leon M. Smith, II of Somerset, NJ, and Dionne Smith of Atlanta, GA; six brothers, Kenneth Jackson of Yonkers, NY, Marvin Jackson of Baltimore, MD, Cecil Jackson of Keysville, VA, Darryl Jackson of Spotsylvania, VA, Malcolm Jackson of Meherrin, VA, and David Jackson of Dunwoody, GA; five sisters, Janice Colbert of Oxon Hill, MD, Nadine Bragg and Caroline Williams of Meherrin, VA, Evelyn Reid of Aurora, CO, and Elma Jackson of Blackstone, VA; five step grandchildren; nine sisters-in-law; eight brothers-in-law; a host of nieces, nephews and other family members and friends.
