Thomas King Jones, age 81 of Mt. Pleasant, passed away Sunday, May 8, 2016 at NHC Columbia.
Thomas was born February 16, 1935 in Little Rock, Arkansas to Charles Frederick Jones and Helen Layman Jones. He was married to Norma Graff Jones, who passed away in 2006. Thomas honorably served the United States Airforce, Army, and retired with the National Guard. Thomas also retired from General Motors in Spring Hill. He was a member of Locust Street Church of Christ. He was an avid Oklahoma Sooner football fan where he played center position in the 1950’s.
Thomas is survived by his children: Karen (Mike) England, Tommy (Donna) Jones, Jimmy Jones; grandchildren: Patty (Brad) King, Kevin McKennon, Nikki (Frankie) Ingram, TJ Jones, Ben Jones, Riley Jones; seven great grandchildren: Brooke Gentry, Peyton King, Brantley King, Kadence McKennon, Aiden McKennon, Micah Crowe, and Sadie Crowe; brother-in-law: Ernest Graff, Jr.; and nieces and nephews: Vicky Sadler and John (Ginger) Vaughan. Thomas is preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Helen Jones, his wife, Norma Graff Jones, sister-in-law Martha Graff Vaughan, and one brother-in-law Bill Graff.
Funeral services will be conducted at Williams Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant on Wednesday, May 11, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. with Dan King officiating. The family will visit with friends on Tuesday, May 10, 2016 at Williams Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and again on Wednesday one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at Arlington Cemetery with military honors provided.
Pallbearers will be Ben Jones, Kevin McKennon, John Vaughan, T.J. Jones, Jimmy Jones, and Tommy Jones.
Honorary pallbearers will be Spud Crotzer, Claude Brawner, Bobby Printice, Walter Marlin, Doyle Vaughan, Junior Graff, and the caring staff at NHC Columbia.
