Thomas Darrell Falconbury, age 73, passed away on June 19, 2017, in the home of his loving daughter after an extended illness.
Tom was born January 16, 1944, in Indianapolis, Indiana. He graduated from Ball State University with a Bachelor of Science in business. He married his love on October 7, 1968. Tom was a successful businessman, first as a claim adjuster with Crawford & Company then as an Audiologist with Bel-Tone. Tom enjoyed time with family and friends, whether it was on the golf course, at the country club, having family cookouts, or kicked back on the porch with a good cigar. Tom had a laugh that infected everyone. Later in life, he enjoyed hearing about everyone’s day and was very proud of his daughter going back to school for nursing.
Tom is survived by a daughter, Jessica (Chris) Woods; brothers, Rick Falconbury and Jeff (Teana) Falconbury; one sister, Donna Harrison; three grandchildren and three step-grandchildren, Kaitlyn Falconbury, Savannah Moore, Gracierose McNabb, Tonya Woods, Amanda Woods and Timothy Woods; one great-grandson, J.T. Woods along with several nieces and nephews.
Tom was preceded in death by an infant sister, Sharon Falconbury; father, Darrell Falconbury; mother, Jane Falconbury and wife, Sharon Roach Falconbury.
The family would like to give special thanks to Dr. Rebecca Smith, N.P. Carrie Barr, Quality First Healthcare and nurse and special friend Chantelle Hamlin.
A memorial service for Tom will be conducted Monday, June 26, at 6:00 P.M. in the chapel of Williams Funeral Home in Columbia. The family will receive friends from 4:00 – 6:00 P.M. on Monday at the funeral home.
