Thelma Mae Mc Cant Cockerham, age 73, a resident of Experiment Lane, passed away on Monday, Oct. 6, at Maury Regional Hospital.
Graveside services for Mrs. Cockerham will be conducted Thursday at 4:00 P.M. at Polk Memorial Gardens with Rev. Bill Cockerham officiating.
The family will visit with friends from 5:00 – 8:30 P.M. on Wednesday October 8, 2008 at the Williams Funeral Home in Columbia.
Born in Wayne County, Tennessee she was the daughter of the late Leroy McCant and Lola Robertson McCant. Thelma was a member of Zion Hill United Methodist Church in Chapel Hill and was active and devoted to her husband's ministry. She was a 1953 graduate of Columbia Central High School and completed her Master of Education from Berry College in 1978. She was a retired educator.
Survivors include her husband of 47 years, Raymond Paul Cockerham of Columbia; daughters: Lesa Cockerham of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida and Mary Steve Matheny of Columbia; grandsons: Cory Cockerham, Ashton Matheny and Connor Matheny.
Pallbearers will be Cory Cockerham, Ashton Matheny, Steve Matheny, Tom Wilson, Billy Lakey and Bob Lakey
