Thaddeus "Ted" Sisco

Thaddeus "Ted" Sisco, 75, a resident of Fairview Drive in Mt. Pleasant, passed away on Tuesday, April 13, at his residence.

Funeral services for Ted will be conducted Friday at 2:00 P.M. at the First United Methodist Church in Mt. Pleasant with Rev. Phillip Wright officiating. Burial will follow in Arlington Cemetery.

The family will visit with friends on Thursday from 5:00 ? 7:30 P.M. at Williams Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant.

The Davidson County native was born July 18, 1934, the son of the late Thaddeus Lawrence Sisco and Lestia Cothran Sisco. He was the husband of 55 years of Gerrie Adams Sisco of Mt. Pleasant. Ted was a well-known Mt. Pleasant businessman and for many years and was an agent for Shelter Insurance Company. He was a well known local historian, served on the board of directors of Hunter Cemetery, recipient of the Maurice Lightfoot Historian award, enjoyed serving as a tour guide on the Mt. Pleasant Tour of Homes and an antique car buff. Ted served as a member of the Mt. Pleasant Power System Board from 1985 to 2006, then he was appointed chairman and served until 2009. He also served as chairman of the board for the Housing Authority, on the board of directors for Arlington Cemetery and an active member of Alcoholics Anonymous, where he sponsored several members. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Mt. Pleasant.

Survivors in addition to his wife include his children: Jana Sisco Bradford Larson of Memphis, Thad Deborah Thomason Sisco of Nashville and Amy Sisco Gerald Lanz of Madison, AL; grandchildren: Sisco Larson, Ross Larson, Alex Youn, Marie Sisco, Anna Lanz and Clayton Lanz.

Pallbearers will be Bradford Larson, Sisco Larson, Alex Youn, Gerald Lanz, Clayton Lanz and Bobby Joe McGloffin.

The family has requested memorial donations be made to the First United Methodist Church, 202 S. Main Street, Mt. Pleasant, TN 38474 or the American Cancer Society, Maury Co. Unit, P.O. Box 1864, Columbia, TN 38402.
